Looks Using Shiro Cosmetics!

I promised some looks using my new Shiro Cosmetics shadows and here they are! I love all of the shadows. They are so pretty and have just the right amount of shimmer in them. I don't like my eyes being too sparkly. The shadows blend beautifully and have good pigmentation. Not to mention, they are named by Pokemon! Heehee, I know I keep going on about that, but it's awesome! ^.^

For this one I used Mew on the lid, Bulbasaur in the crease/outer corner, and Meowth along the brow bone and to blend out.

This one has Golem on the lid, Clefairy (Yay! I love Clefairy) in the crease, and Meowth along the brow bone and in the inner corner.

So yes, Meowth is probably going to be my favorite blending/brow bone color forever and I'll use it nonstop until I run out.... then I'll order more! Heehee. I really love all of the colors I got and will get some more different ones when I have the monies. Anyways, I hope you like these!

FFVIII Guardian Force Series-Siren

Hurray! I love the GF Siren. She is so lovely and graceful looking. When in battle in the game she is called forth to cast silence on enemies. Kind of going along with Greek mythology, she uses her harp and beautiful voice to mesmerize the opponents. ^.^ Here is my attempt at a look inspired by Siren's beauty. I know it is very subtle but I wanted it to have a soft look to hopefully give it more of a graceful look.

All the shadows I used for this look were my Shiro Cosmetics loose mineral eye shadows. I used:
Urban Decay Primer potion for my base
Meowth from Shiro on the lid and underneath the lower lash line
Rattata from Shiro along the upper lash line
Kokiri Forest from Shiro along the crease and in between the eye liner in the outer corner
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner for the eyeliner
Wet n Wild Megalash for the lashes.

Shiro Cosmetics Review and Swatches FTW! ^.^

Yes! That's right! I finally received my eye shadows from Shiro Cosmetics! I say "finally" not because it took long but because it felt like an eternity since I have been so excited to receive this product. When I first heard about Shiro from Anastasia of Lipsticks and Lightsabers I was so overwhelmed with joy that  I could hardly contain myself. Caitlin, the owner of Shiro Cosmetics, has taken my two favorite things ("Makeup and Geekery") and combined them into a magnificent combination of pure awesomeness ^.^  She has eye shadows themed from Pokemon and from Zelda. I just got my stuff in the mail so I haven't gotten to do any looks, but I'm doing some swatches anyway and looks will come!

Ok, first of all, the customer service that I received from Caitlin of Shiro Cosmetics was fantastic! She was so kind and kept me up to date through out the process of ordering and receiving my shipment. She's such a sweety! I even got 3 samples of other eye shadows with my order! I work in customer service myself, so I can really appreciate when someone is good with their customers and this chick is!

Packaging

I ordered 10 of the mini jars from The Super Effective Collection (^.^). They came in this uber cute little bag with the business card on it and a very nice greeting and thanks from Caitlin on the back. The jars are nice because they have little sifters in the top, so I will be less likely to make a huge mess of them!

Shadows

Now to the goodies! I am sad because I feel that my camera just can't do these colors justice. They are all absolutely beautiful. All have a shimmery effect to them and are very pigmented. They are vegan mineral loose pigments. I'd have to say after swatching them my favorites are Rattata, Bulbasaur, and Clefairy, though I am in love with every single one and can't wait to start doing some looks with these!

Anyways, I hope this was helpful and I know that it will be a treat for my other nerdy girls out there as well as the regular makeup consumer because these eye shadows have something to please everyone... beautiful colors and freaking awesome names! So thank you, Caitlin, for being amazing and seriously pwning at making an awesome product! ^.^

Final Fantasy VIII Guardian Force Series-Shiva

That's right! Final Fantasy VIII! My favorite game in the Final Fantasy series and one of my favorite RPGs. It has great music and I still love the graphics even though we are so much more advanced in that department with games now. I always loved calling forth the supernatural beings that would assist me in battle called the Guardian Forces so that I could watch the beautiful cinema scenes of them kicking ass! This will be a series of looks inspired by these GFs.
First we start with Shiva! This lovely being has an icy cool look which represents her ice powers very well. So I hope you like! Yay!!! ^.^

Look of the Day-Brownish-Bronzish

So the reason for doing this look today was that all the colors are in one tokidoki compact from my robbery palette that I have not really used. Mainly because I really don't tend to gravitate toward gold and bronze type colors, but I decided I needed to broaden my horizons and try something new.

The Breakdown
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin all over the lid
Ercolino from tokidoki on the lid.
Bulletto in the crease and along the lower lash line.
A neutral shade from Wet N Wild that I don't know the name of along the Bulletto and the brow bone.
Savana on the inner corners of the eyes.
As always :) Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero along the lash lines.
Revlon Doubletwist mascara for the lashes.

I hope you likes it! ^.^

ZOMG! Hello Kitty at Sephora!

I loooove Hello Kitty. I grew up loving Hello Kitty. I want to try out the eye shadow sticks and the blush so bad! But I have to be good and wait since I just bought some Shiro Cosmetics....which I'm VERY excited about, and should arrive in the mail soon. ^.^ Anyway, if you have tried any of these products please let me know what you think!

Minecraft Inspired Look of the Day

Minecraft has been my latest favorite game to play, so I thought why not do a Minecraft look? I took the colors of the rock that one spends oh-so-much time digging up in the game trying to find minerals or using it to build structures. And no, the eye shadows are not all pixely looking, to my dismay. I attempted pixels and it was a disaster, so if you know how to make your eye makeup look decently like 8-bit, please share! ^.^
So yes, Minecraft is awesome! Check it out at minecraft.net. Play it! You will love it!

The Breakdown
Lorac Eye Primer before shadows.
White/silvery color from Coastal Scents double stack shimmer palette on the lid, inner corners, and along the brow bone.
Mushroom from Urban Decay Alice palette along the crease.
ME18 Hot Pot from Coastal Scents in the outer corner of the eye and into the crease a bit.
Tako from Sugarpill along the outside of the ME18 to make a straight line in the corner.
Drink Me, Eat Me from Urban Decay Alice palette above the crease to blend everything out.
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero on the waterline and along the upper lash line.
Revlon DoubleTwist Mascara for the lashes.

No blush because I wanted more focus on the eyes.

Coastal Scents Winterberry Palette-Review and Swatches

Coastal Scents is a great makeup company. They have very pretty and pigmented eye shadows for good prices. I've gotten several of the palettes from them because you get so much makeup for cheap! And it looks awesome! Today I will review the Winterberry Palette, one that I had my eye on since it first came out and finally purchased a few weeks ago. You can check out Coastal Scents at www.coastalscents.com

This palette is made up of several different colors from the Hot Pots that Coastal Scents offers.Hot pots are just essentially eye shadows that are not put in a palette and there a ton of different colors to choose from. You have the option to pick and choose from those as you like.

Packaging
There are a couple good things about the compact for this palette.
1) The slots that you put the makeup pots in are magnetic, so you can mix and match if you decide to get some of their hot pots.I believe the slots in these compacts are compatible with MAC cosmetics eye shadows as well.
2)It has a very nice mirror in it.

The only thing I don't like about the compact itself is that it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to open with my fingers. I have to wedge something between where it snaps to get it open. I don't know if its just mine or if it's universal, but it makes it difficult to work with sometimes.

The Shadows!!!
I really like these shadows ^.^ . This palette is full of colors and tones that I really like. As you can see in the swatch they are quite pigmented. I have a primer on my hand, but even without the primer they are beautiful. I'll probably use the lower two rows more for crease and lid and the upper row for above crease/brow bone.I'd say my favorites are ME18 and S14 because they are very pretty colors and seem to show up the best.
As far as how well these last, I've done a few looks with some of the colors and they always stay in place as long as I have a primer on. I normally put a cream shadow underneath these to make them pop, but its not something you need for it to make a nice look.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this palette. Beautiful colors, great pigmentation, and I can swap the pots out for different colors in the future if I want! ^.^ I hope this was helpful!

Yay! I looove the Left 4 Dead games. My favorite shooter. I wore my Left 4 Dead 2 shirt today and decided that I needed makeup to match it! It's not as bright as I would like for it to be, but eh, I'll take it.

Sugarpill Cosmetics 4-Color Palette in Cold Heart

This is so exciting! I decided to try out Sugarpill because I have heard so much about it and it looks amazing! I just got this palette in the mail a few days ago and wanted to do a review on it.

First of all, I want to say that Amy Doan (creator of Sugarpill Cosmetics) is awesome! She is so sweet. She sent me a  sample of the loose pigment "Goldilux" with my order (which I looove). I got a Sugarpill sticker and she even signed my invoice!
Next, packaging! The packaging for this product is amazing!. It is so cute! ^.^ It has a really nice mirror on the inside. Great quality. Also, one thing that I find very very important is that the compact is sturdy and it has magnetic clasps. I looove products that come in magnetic compacts because they're easy to open and they stay closed so they don't get ruined. So on a scale of 1-10 I give the packaging a 10!

Now the one of the first things I noticed about this palette is that the pots the eye shadows are in are huge! It's a lot of product! The eye shadows are very very pigmented. I have already done a couple looks with them and am please with how nice they look and how long they last. I have a picture posted below with swatches and the shadows in the compact. The color names (from left to right, top to bottom) are Poison Plum, Bulletproof, Tako, and Afterparty. Such fun names! The first three seem to be more matte while Afterparty has more of a satin finish. I also have a swatch of the loose pigment Goldilux below. I normally shy away from gold colors and don't like them but this is so bright and pretty that I will probably use it a good bit then get the actual pot. Overall the eye shadows are fantastic! Great color pay off and very pretty bold colors. I give the shadows a 10 as well!

If you want to check out all Sugarpill Cosmetics products go to http://www.sugarpillshop.com/.

I'm glad I decided to try this out and will definitely be purchasing some more of these products in the future. I got this palette at for $34 and it was definitely worth it. I will have some looks with these colors posted later. I hope this post is helpful!

Look of the Day-Green!

For the eyes I used:
(In order applied)
Soya eyeshadow by tokidoki on the lower half of the eye lid and underneath the lower lashes.
Absolem by Urban Decay (Alice in Wonderland Palette) on the upper part of the lid.
Liberty by tokidoki in the crease.
Mushroom by Urban Decay in the outer corner of the eye.
Drink Me, Eat Me by Urban Decay on the brow bone and the inner corners of the eyes.
Urban decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero for eyeliner.
Revlon DoubleTwist Mascara for the lashes.

For cheeks:
Momobella blush by tokidoki on the cheekbones

Of course, you don't HAVE to use these exact eye shadows if you want to achieve this look. Just use similar colors. A bright neon, almost chartreuse green on the lower half of the lid. For the second color get a green that is more the color of light grass. For the crease color get a darker green. In the outer corner of the eye use a darker gray color to give the look some depth. Then use a shimmery shade of eye shadow that is close to your skin tone on the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes and ta da! I hope this is entertaining/useful!

OMGS!!!! This is great! Geek Chic Cosmetics

Geek Chic Cosmetics! <3 <3 <3 I have died and gone to heaven. This is amazing. These great people have combined my two most favorite hobbies and it looks uber awesome! They have several collections of eyeshadows named based on video games or video game genres. For example, "10 Man Raid" for World of Warcraft and "Mushroom Kingdom" for Mario. I am definitely going to have to get into this. I just found this while searching around online. Checked out some reviews and swatches that look really good, so I would like to try it out and review it for myself. It appears that they only have loose pigments, which I generally stay away from because I'm afraid of making messes, but this is such a beautiful thing that I will just have to take part! Check them out at http://www.geekchiccosmetics.com/.

Tokidoki Eye Shadow Sets Review

Tokidoki! I've been waiting to get my hands on some this makeup for a while. Their style is cute and has a Japanese cartoonish look to it that is uber cute! Most importantly the makeup products they put out, as far as I can tell, are great quality!  This will be a review on two of the eye shadow sets, the Cromatico Eyeshadow Palettes in Adieu and Adios.
Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette: Adieu
Here is the Adieu Palette in its packaging. One of the many things I love about tokidoki is that they do really cute packaging for their products. The packaging here is clear in some places so it goes with the actual palette box underneath.

Here is the outside of the main palette itself:

The palette has two layers to open. Here is the first layer with the four eye shadows and a little eyeshadow applicator. All of the color names are on the bottom of the palette. Going clockwise from the top left we have a pretty white color called Carino. You can't tell very well in this picture but it has a lot of glitter in it. Next is Ciao Ciao, a nice bright pink color with a bit of a purple tinge to it. Then Al Dente, a more true purple color with shimmer and Adieu, a deep purple with lighter purple glitter. The first and last have a lot of glitter in the and the other two are smoother with just shimmer.

Here is the second layer of the palette if you open the bottom. A super cute keychain! The little character looks like a french skeleton with her little had  and the Eiffel Tower in the background.

Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette: Adios
Here is the Adios Palette with outside packaging. Adorable and kind of Gothic looking at the same time!

Here is the package itself.

Now the eye shadows! The top left is Candy Cane, a white with sparkles. The next is Carina which  looks very similar but has more silver in it. On the bottom right we have Malandrino, a really nice gray, almost gunmetal shade (probably my favorite). The bottom left is Adios which is the eye shadow that is closest to matte than the rest. There is still a teeny bit of shimmer in this one.

The key chain in this one is a cute little skeleton that looks like he might be the grim reaper.

I did some swatches on my hand with Too Faced Shadow Insurance underneath. They all went on pretty smoothly. I'd say the ones with the most color pay off are the gray, pinkish purple, regular purple, black, and dark purple. The only con I have with these is that the ones with glitter, Al Dente, Candy Cane and Carina, could cause some bad fall out. Then again, depending on what look you want you may like sparkles on your cheeks.  ^.^

All in all I find these palettes worth the money. Cute packaging, good color pay off in the shadows and key chains included. You could use these eye shadows to create smoky looks, cutesy looks, or just use one of the eye shadows at a time (the Adieu or Malandrino) for everyday. There are two other eyeshadow sets that I didn't buy (Diamante and Bastardino) but you can check them out on Sephora as well. I got mine at sephora.com for $25 a piece. It may seem a little pricey since there are only four shadows in each, but I feel that you get a lot with each palette. Especially if you're a fan of anything Japanese style. These would be great for a birthday or Christmas gift. I hope you enjoy! ^.^
