Lost in Makeupland Review and Swatches

Hoorah! I just got my shipment of samples in the mail from Lost in Makeupland! I have been stoked about this purchase for a while now and I finally get to share it with my awesome readers. ^.^
Lost in Makeupland is a fairly new independent makeup company run by Ms. Belen. She has a store on Etsy as well as a blog where she keeps her peeps up to date on latest news with her products. Her shop is full of great mineral eye shadows, blushes, and highlighters. When I first saw the website I knew I had to try it out so I bought some samples!
Lost in Makeupland is having a contest to win either a 50% discount code or $50 worth of LIM products!!!! Check out the rules here!

Customer Service
Belen knows what she is doing when it comes to this category. She is very kind to her customers and keeps them up to date. I did have to wait almost a month to get my package but only because I live in the US and the shipping for overseas in Spain at the time was backed up. I do not have a problem with this and I know about it because Belen keeps updates on her Twitter account, which I follow, telling what's going on as far as shipping. There were some people giving her a hard time about the whole post office being backed up and I say that is ridiculous. Belen DOES NOT control the post office that ships internationally and was kind enough to let us know what was going on. I promise, you will not die from having to wait for your cosmetics a little longer! Anyway, now that I'm off that rant.... bottom line, good customer service! ^.^

Packaging
Cute packaging. Since I had all samples they came in little zip baggies all in a little tie bag as seen below. I LIKE it!

Swatches
When I swatches these colors I became so excited because they are all beautiful!!! I ordered 10 samples of eye shadows (Belen gave me an extra, so sweet!), 2 blush samples, and a highlighter sample.
With flash and over Too Faced Shadow Insurance

The eye shadows with a V next them are vegan and the eye shadows with an NV next to them are non-vegan. This is another thing I like about Lost in Makeupland... they are clearly labeled as to whether they are vegan or not and every product has a list of ingredients used on the website. It's nice that this company is up front about it's products.
I find all of the eye shadows to be very pigmented. They go on nicely and blend beautifully when applying. I am so excited about these products because they are so pretty! I really do love them all. Goomer is an almost purply-pink (mainly pink). Sugar-coated has a beautiful sky blue color to it. Purrrple is a kind of dark lavender color. Weed is a light almost yellow-green. Not So Much is an interestingly pretty color with its burnt red kind of look. Expensive is a golden brown. Ink Bubbles is a cute pink (can't really explain what kind of pink). Whipped is a nice frosty white. Bruised seems to be an almost mauve color. Bioshock may be my favorite because it has a gorgeous deep green color with brown in it. Queen is deep red and brown.
The highlighter and blushes are soooo lovely. I put in the Say It Isn't So blush in the picture below and it blended so well. I normally hate having to deal with blush because I'm so pale that I end up looking like a Raggity Anne doll or something, but with this blush it is not too harsh and it gives a pretty flush to the cheeks. I really like the Peachy blush as well as it is also light and not too bright for my skin and I love light peachy blushes anyway. The highlighter is very satisfactory for me. Highlighters are not something I use a lot but I probably will with this one. It gives a nice brightening touch to the face when applied above the cheekbones.

I did a look using some of the products:

I used these:
(Whipped, Sugar-Coated, Ink Bubbles, Say It Isn't So, and Faerie)

Overall I am very pleased with this company and will definitely be buying from them again. You guys should check out the website! Huzzah for uber makeups! =3

Shiro Swatches!!!

Hi everyone! I apologize for my absence for so long. I have been busy with wedding planning and work stuff. I am happy to be back with some great swatches for you all! My shipment from Shiro Cosmetics arrived this week!
If you have been reading my blog for a while you already know that I loooove Shiro! I have decided that it is my favorite makeup company. Number one, they are absolutely beautiful eye shadows; number two, they have a Pokemon and Zelda collection; number three, the owner of the company Caitlin is a big nerd like me ^.^ She is so nice and really knows how to run a business and implement good customer service. So let's get down to business!

Super Cute Packaging!
I love the little bag she put this in.

Here are the shadows in their pots. I got 3 samples and 2 chocolates with mine! So sweet! :D

Both of these are with flash.

I put Too Faced Shadow Insurance on under the swatches. I am happy with ALL of the colors, but I have to say my favorites are Midna, Farore's Wind, and Hearts. Hearts is a nice red color. I have a difficult time finding a red that doesn't come out looking pink and this red stays true so I am so stoked I got it! All of the colors have great pigmentation and last all day. I have done a few looks so far with some of them.

For this one I used PIkachu, Zelda, Master Sword and Deku

This is my St Patrick's Day look I put together. I used Rupee, Farore's Wind, Link, and Meowth (my favorite highlight color).

I am very pleased with how these look applied. I have been using them dry because I'm not used to using pigments wet, but I will try to get some practice in so you all can see how it looks. Bottom line, as you can see these shadows are awesome and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream-Review

Hello everyone! I've got a great product review for you today and that product is the Perfect Cover BB Cream!!

BB stands for blemish balm. It is a liquid foundation made in Korea. As it says on the packaging it is supposed to "lighten the skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability". It also "prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties".
I have been using this on and off for 2-3 years and I have to say this is one of my favorite cosmetic products! It really does improve the look and feel of my skin. As I believe I have said in previous posts, I used to get acne and still get occasional small bumps on my skin. BB Cream really does help to reduce these bumps and make my skin soft. This cream comes in 4 different shades:  #13 Milky Beige, #21 Light Beige, #23 Natural Beige, and #31 Golden Beige. I know four shades doesn't seem like much, but it is an improvement from the only two shades they had when I first started buying this. I buy the #21 shade and it seems to work well for me. Here I have it swatched and blended:

It applies smoothly and I would say the coverage isn't really full. It seems to me to be closer to medium coverage. I suppose it's kind of like a tinted moisturizer but with more pigment. It has SPF 42, so it definitely protects the skin effectively from harmful UV rays. It smells AWESOME! I have never had a foundation that smells this good.
Overall this product is great and I would definitely recommend it. It lives up to its claims of helping blemishes and its anti-aging properties, it has decent coverage, and it smells good. The only problem I have with it is that it is not offered in more shades, but hopefully that will be something that is expanded in the future.

Life Streams

Today's eye look is inspired by the Final Fantasy VII logo.

FF7 was one of my favorite RPGs that I've played and its logo is one of my faves among the series.Fantastic characters, fantastic music, fantastic battle system... I just love it all around. So here is my interpretation!

Absolum from the same palette on the middle of the lid

Lancome La Base Pro Primer Review

I recently went scouring for a good face primer and after much looking around, decided to get the Lancome La Base Perfecting Makeup Primer Smoothing Effect. The website claims: "LancĂ´me’s exclusive Elasto-Smooth™ technology refines skin’s texture and diffuses light to visibly reduce imperfections with a satiny-soft finish. Makeup glides on effortlessly and color stays truer and more vibrant for that right-off-the-runway, air-brushed look that lasts until you take it off." It is also an oil-free product, which is great for me because I have combination oily skin.
Here is a picture of the bottle:

It has a pump that works nicely to control how much product you want to get out of the bottle. I would say less is more with this primer. You don't need much to get your smoothing effect.

It is a nice clear, smooth-feeling formula. It does glide on very easily. I've been using this for a few weeks now and it does really make a difference when I wear it under my makeup. My foundation glides on easier and lasts longer, my face looks a bit more even. I've also noticed that this primer acts as a matifier for my skin. After I put it on my face isn't shiny and the oil is decreased.

I bought this primer at Macy's for $42. I know it's a bit pricey but I feel that a good primer is worth the money. The bottle is also a decent size, so it will last a good while. My opinion is to definitely check out this primer, because it has absolutely helped me! I hope this has been helpful.

Rattata, I Choose You!

*Ring, Ring* Youngster Joey: "Hey, it's me, Joey! I just caught a super cool Rattata the other day! It's like my Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattatas!"..... Me: "Ugh, shut up. If you call me one more time talking about your 'uber Rattata'...."
I'm playing Pokemon Soulsilver right now and had to do a look honoring Rattata. If you've played Soulsilver and you've met Joey then you know what I mean by the quote above. If you haven't played it then I hope you enjoy the look enough to deal with my nerdiness ^.^
Yes, it's another purple look :D I know I need to get in some more variety of colors but I just had too much fun playing with Rattata from Shiro Cosmetics. I hope you enjoy!
